Online CPD for Child Therapists

At Creative Child Therapy Workshops, our online courses are designed for busy therapists who are looking for practical, fun, and effective ideas for working with children aged 4-12 years and their families. Both new and experienced therapists have enjoyed learning about our creative and engaging therapy activities. Psychologists, school counsellors, occupational therapists, social workers, speech pathologists, family therapists, and other mental health clinicians have all found our training helpful. Our online courses are always open for enrolments and can be completed at your own pace.

This online course includes over 40 creative and playful therapy activities that can be used with children to help with a range of emotional difficulties such as anxiety, anger and sadness. The course explores essential developmental and practical considerations in working therapeutically with children and families and provides therapists with about 10 hours of self-paced CPD.

Packed with lots of practical tips this online course will help you to better understand, engage and work with children with anxiety and their families. The course includes about 30 playful therapeutic activities that can readily be incorporated into your practice with a total of 8 hours of self-paced CPD.

Children often present for therapy with angry outbursts, meltdowns and aggressive behaviours. Helping children and families to understand a child’s anger and build regulation skills is an important part of our work as therapists. This online course is full of practical tips for working with children and their grown ups, along with lots of playful therapeutic activities that help families understand and explore regulation.

Board and card games are appealing for children and can be a great way of engaging them in therapy. This short online course will allow you to learn more about how you can use board games therapeutically.

Children who are anxious often worry about making mistakes and it can be an important area to address in therapy. This short course provides an opportunity to better understand this anxiety and is packed with lots of great ideas for working therapeutically with children and their families. It’s about 2.5 hours of self-paced CPD with tips for face to face and online therapy.

In this mini course, we discuss four key concepts and practical ideas for communicating these in your work with children, parents, and teachers. We also share five creative and playful therapy activities that you can use to support children and families in understanding and exploring these concepts. If you have yet to complete any of our training, this is an ideal space to start. It’s 1.5 hours of CPD, and it’s free.
